Donation of AED to Dar il-Kaptan
Baker Tilly Malta has a strong belief in giving back to our surrounding communities, as it makes us feel good, be more socially aware, and it gives us an altruistic sense of social responsibility and love of people. We are proud of having a long history of giving charity and helping organizations in need, most recently donating an automated external defibrillator (AED) to Dar il-Kaptan. This portable life saving device is able to diagnose the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and on top of that is able to treat them though defibrillation, through the application of electrical therapy the heart is able to re-establish an effective rhythm.
Dar il-Kaptan is a non-profit and non-governmental foundation for Respite Care Services. The organization is committed to helping people with disabilities and their families. Families require adequate support and the necessary respite, so that people with disabilities can remain in their family home and continue to live in the community and lead a life outside institutionalization. The charity runs on the principle that the individual had their own right to dignity, respect and privacy. All the services Dar il-Kaptan provides are done with the mentality of enhancing each individual’s potential and enriches their quality of life. It was thanks to these morals and values that Dar il-Kaptan received the European Citizen’s Prize.
We are appreciative of the outstanding work that Dar il-Kaptan has been providing to the Maltese community, which has continued to inspire many, including the management and employees of Baker Tilly Malta who are continuously seeking to build upon their values of giving back to the community. We pride ourselves ourselves on these values and it is only thanks to the generosity of the firm’s management and employees that we are able to continue to build upon these values and encourage others follow in these footsteps.
